Candy Colours

images via NAAGbeautyfool, id

Crazy or cool?
The bubblegum hair trend is as controversial as Marmite.
If your feeling adventurous why not follow in the footsteps of Asley Olsen and Pixie Geldoff and take the pastel plunge.
Try candy floss pink, sea green, peaches and cream, or a handful of lavender highlights. Have some fun
PS. This trend looks best on messy, undone hair.

Bangs à la Birkin

Dreamy images from french label Sessun. Their spring collection is full of pretty feminine pieces that will make you wish you were french!
The clothes are beautiful but the best part is the model's Birkin-esque fringe.

Celebs who love this look include Olivia Wilde & Zooey Deschanel

Tips on wearing a fringe:
  • The sides of the fringe should be slightly longer to blend it around the face and to help sweep it to the side.
  • Use a mid-sized beveled/ round brush to blow out the sides holding the brush vertically and rolling backward. Just a quick blast of a dryer and one rotation should be enough to keep the sides from looking puffed up.
  • Use a comb and point your drier’s nozzle downward on your fringe when drying.
  • Use a little dry shampoo to give it a mussed-up texture.

The Koolest Kooples

Seriously digging androgynous french fashion brand The Kooples.
Using real-life couples for their look-book, think skinny trousers, sharp blazers and loads of dandy detailing.
Donning his-and-hers razor-sharp tailoring, these hipsters ooze attitude, style and rock and roll.

Pleats and updo's

Don’t ask me how I stumbled upon this gem but I just adore New Zealand’s Juliette Hogan’s twirly pleated dresses.
The hairstyles look amazing too - 1960’s Mad-Men inspired updo’s and messy topknot buns - perfect for a night out.
Such a shame there is not shop in the UK!

Sexy side braid

I know I keep going on about braids but I really love this side braid, seen backstage at Alexander Wang.

If you love it too, here’s our step by step guide how to achieve this look:
  1. Spray an even mist of Bumble and Bumble Tonic throughout the hair.
  2. Apply Bumble and Bumble Texture Hair (un)dressing creme from roots to ends, twisting downward as you go. Make sure the product is evenly distributed.
  3. Roughly blow-dry the hair with your fingers on a medium heat. Make sure the dryer is directed from roots to ends to avoid any tangles.
  4. Sweep the hair to the nape of the neck on one side and loosely pleat, securing with a snag free elastic. Don’t worry about it being too neat.
  5. Lightly spritz Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray evenly over the style. Loosen the shape through by gently massaging the scalp with your fingertips and tease the pleat to add texture and create that undone look.

Swoon is one of the few exclusive outlets that stock Bb. Texture in Manchester

PS It looks like Rihanna is also a fan of this look.

Kate Moss for Longchamp

ADORE Kate Moss in this sixties style Longchamp ad. Her retro fringe is so Bardot.
We can't get enough of this summer's hippie trend with high-waisted flares, micro-mini dresses and reams of ethnic jewellery.
I love discovering old songs like this - Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazelwood "Sand" will certainly be going on the Swoon ipod.
